What we believe
We are a church of IPUL México, the Iglesia Pentecostal Unida Latinoamericana in Mexico. What we believe comes from the Bible, and it follows the statement of faith our national church publishes. Here it is in plain words, with the verses behind it.
Jesus is at the center
Jesus is at the center of everything we do. We sing, pray and preach in His powerful name. We recognize and proclaim that He is God. Through knowing His word and His endless grace, we can have eternal life.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

One Lord, one faith, one baptism
We worship one Lord and one God, the Father of all. We do our best to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. We hold to one faith and one baptism, because we have only one God and Father of all, who is in all.
endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Who Jesus is
The Bible tells us that Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a life without sin. He taught for only a few years before He was crucified on a Roman cross. Three days later He rose from the tomb. Many people saw Him, and soon after He went up to heaven.
While He was in this world, Jesus declared and showed that He had the power to:
- Forgive sins
- Heal the sick
- Cast out demons
- Decide the eternal destiny of people
In other words, He is God Himself, shown to us in the flesh. He is the Creator of all things, who became flesh, came down from heaven and died for our sins.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Nothing Jesus did, not even His suffering and His death, would mean anything without the promise that He will come back and give us eternal life. The Scriptures show that He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, that He lives, and that He is the way to eternal life.
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
Repent, be baptized, receive the Holy Spirit
In the book of Acts, people asked Peter what they should do. This is what he told them.
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
We follow the commandments the Holy Spirit established in the book of Acts:
- Repent
- Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins
- Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
We recognize as members of the body of Christ, and so as brothers and sisters in the faith, all who profess these commandments. The same pattern appears in Acts 8:16 (opens in a new tab), 10:43-48 (opens in a new tab) and 19:1-7 (opens in a new tab).
The church of Jesus Christ
It is God's will to take out of the world a people saved for the glory of His name. That people is the church of Jesus Christ. It is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ Himself as the chief cornerstone.
Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone.
For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
Church members need constant fellowship with one another. They give counsel and are taught the Word of God for the work of the ministry and for the spiritual offices the Bible provides. We want to be a people who honor and glorify His name and who are zealous for good works, a church that is holy and without blemish.
who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
Our mission
Jesus gave His church a commission: to announce the good news of salvation to everyone.
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
The same commission appears in Matthew 28:19-20 (opens in a new tab), Mark 16:15-20 (opens in a new tab), Luke 24:45-49 (opens in a new tab) and John 20:20-23 (opens in a new tab).
